RATINGS

All league and tournament players who played in 2011 receive a year-end rating for the coming year, 2012. Please note that these ratings are determined at the National level based on your results. The year-end rating calculation process included matches played from Nov. 2, 2010, through Oct. 31, 2011. Find out more about the NTRP system and dynamic ratings at the USTA NTRP Web page.

To look up NTRP Ratings: Go to http://tennislink.usta.com/leagues/. Enter the USTA membership number, team number or player name under the Find NTRP Rating Info tab in the center of the page and hit search. For a faster response it is recommended that you search for your new rating using your USTA # and not by name.

To obtain the entire list of league players in alphabetical order: Go to http://tennislink.usta.com/leagues/. Under the “Find NTRP Rating Info” tab, click on Advanced Search in the lower middle. From the drop-down menus, choose the appropriate year, section (USTA/Intermountain), district (Idaho), and area. You may choose to narrow the search by league, gender and level. The legend for Rating Type is located at the bottom of the player list.

There are only two methods to appeal a published Year-End Rating: Automated Appeals and Medical Appeals. Information about appeals can be found on the USTA Web site under leagues. If you are not logged in to your USTA account, click on the About Auto-Appeals at the bottom right side of the USTA Leagues Web page. If you are logged into your USTA account, click on the USTA League Tennis Rules at the bottom right side of the page under My Quick Links, then click on the ratings link on the right to access the Appeal a Rating Information.

If you choose to do an Automated Appeal, login to your USTA account on TennisLink on the USTA Leagues Web site. Once logged in, your NTRP level is listed at the top of the page, adjacent to your name. Underneath your NTRP level listed there is an appeal rating level link. Click this link and fill out the information requested. You will immediately find out whether you have been accepted or denied the rating change.

If you feel a Medical Appeal is warranted, please read the medical appeal procedures Q & A and the medical appeal form which can be found at the Appeal a Rating Information page. Medical appeals can only be processed (with supporting documentation) if a player is presented with a permanent disabling injury or illness that occurred after year-end ratings were achieved.

If you have further questions or need assistance, please contact Katie Ware, District League Coordinator, at (208) 322-5150, Ext. 206, or e-mail kware@idtennis.com.

RESCHEDULING POLICY

SUSPENDED OR RAINED OUT MATCHES

Unless agreed upon by both captains, all players must be present at match time, even if a rain out is obvious. Team players should wait 30 minutes on site or agree to return in 60 minutes before canceling the match. Rained out or suspended matches are to be made up within two weeks of the originally scheduled match or prior to the end of league date deadline, whichever is first.

In case of a rain out or suspended match, within 48 hours Captains should 1) agree in writing on three possible reschedule dates within the two weeks or less time frame and 2) contact their local area league coordinator with your match identification number for assistance on securing a court site. NOTE: If your three preferred dates cannot be accommodated by the tennis facilities, your local area league coordinator will secure courts for your match at their discretion. The re-scheduled match date becomes the new official scheduled date for the match to take place.

Completed individual matches will stand as played. If a match is suspended, play must continue with the same players and resume at the exact point where it was discontinued (game, set, point). Captains should record the exact point where play was discontinued.

If additional time is needed to complete a match, the home team captain must contact the local league coordinator for an extension. All matches must be completed in order to enter match scores in TennisLink.

SCHEDULES

Matches rescheduled for any reason other than inclement weather or suspension are subject to the following rules. Schedules will be available for all NTRP levels on TennisLink on the established date set by each local league coordinator. Check your schedule for errors immediately and report any errors to your local area league coordinator within five (5) calendar days of the schedule publishing date. After this five day period expires, should any conflicts develop, captains will be expected to 1) negotiate rescheduling possibilities in writing/e-mail with each other, 2) contact a local tennis facility to reserve and pay for courts and 3) inform the local area league coordinator of the new agreed upon match date. NOTE: For a $20 administrative fee, levied to both teams, you may contact your local area league coordinator for rescheduling assistance. All matches must be played and entered into TennisLink by the stated local league end date.

As an important aspect of league competition, teams should include a sufficient number of players in order to be able to field a team on the date they are initially scheduled. An exception would be rained out matches. Please be reminded that it is not good sportsmanship to reschedule with some teams and not other teams.
