Back to the Future!

Recently, I got the chance to play with some classic racquets at IdTA's going away party for Jan Sutter. At first I was confused by this strange, foreign material they were made of and thought it was some form of brown graphite or carbon. But to my surprise, it was something called wood! Never before have I been so humbled by a single piece of equipment. After awhile though, my "Martina Special" and I began to get along much better and I managed to keep it in the court (for the most part....)

After this experience, I have decided that a pro tournament needs to switch back to wood racquets. It doesn't matter to me if it is for charity or if it's a Masters 1000 event, somebody needs to make this happen! I want to see Nadal hit his forehand with a McEnroe special. I want to see John Isner serve with a Kramer limited. I want to see the possibility of some pros looking more like mortals!   Leave me a comment and let me know if you are with me or if you think wood racquets should stay in their trophy cases and dusty attics.........
