"Fish"-ing Season is Over
*SPOILER ALERT*
I don't know how many of you out there watched the Tsonga-Fish match this morning but I caught a bit of it this morning before I headed off to work. As much as I would have loved to see Mardy pull it out, Tsonga was just too much in the second set and Fish looked bothered by that injured leg. The end result is that the season is over for Fish.
Still, what an amazing season Mardy Fish had! He passed Roddick as the top American, won some tournaments, cracked the top 10 and played consistent all year until he got hurt at the end. He credited a lot of his success this year to a change in fitness. I wonder what he could have accomplished had he made that change a lot earlier in his career. I can't help but wonder if he will be able to produce the same results next year when the end of his career is definitely closer than the beginning. What do you guys think? Was this a once in a lifetime season for him or will "Fish"-ing season be open again come January?
