Q: HOW DO I ACCESS TENNISLINK AND JOIN THE USTA OR RENEW MY MEMBERSHIP?
The fastest way to become involved in local tennis activities is to join the USTA and become familiar with TennisLink the USTA’s secure Web-based communications system. Through TennisLink, you can join or renew your annual membership with USTA, create and register for Adult League teams, enter and confirm scores, access team rosters, standings, schedules and scorecards, register for local tournaments and join USTA Team Tennis.
Log in to usta.com/membership and walk you through the steps to join the USTA for the first time, or renew your membership. Cost for an adult USTA membership (18 and over) is $42 for one year, $115 for three years, or $168 for five years. A junior membership (under 18) is $19 for one year, $52 for three years, or $76 for five years. Family memberships (two or more members of the same family) are $68 for one year, $184 for three years, or $272 for five years. TennisLink accepts VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
Q: HOW DO I CREATE A TEAM OR BECOME A TEAM CAPTAIN?
To captain or create a team in a Treasure Valley league, go online to tennislink.usta.com/leagues. On the right side of the screen, click on “Create a Team On-line.” Then select the section (USTA/Intermountain), the district/area (Idaho), the league you want to captain a team for, the flight, the sub-flight, enter a team name (please include at least the last name of the team captain in the team name), click on “Create Team,” and follow the remaining instructions.

TennisLink allows team captains to access team rosters, standings, schedules and scorecards, and is where captains enter and confirm scores. IdTA also provides team captains with “Captains packets.” Captains’ information includes instructions on viewing team schedules, printing scorecards (match specific and blank scorecards), recording scores, confirming scores, accessing other captains’ contact information, and viewing team rosters and standings.

Q: HOW DO I OBTAIN OR REVIEW A RATING?
Players who do not have a computer rating (generated within the last five years) shall self-rate themselves in accordance with the NTRP Guidelines and declare their self-rating on TennisLink. If you are unfamiliar with NTRP Guidelines, click on “NTRP Rating Help” under TennisLink/Leagues from the USTA Web site. Or, click on “About Self-Rate” under “League Players,” “League Play,” on the right-hand side of the panel from TennisLink/Leagues.
Q: HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A LEAGUE?
As a USTA member, you can register for USTA-sanctioned league and tournament play. (USTA membership must be current through the end of the league season you are registering to play in.) From the League homepage in TennisLink, click on “Register for a Team” on the right side of the panel. You will need to enter your USTA number and the team number* in the spaces provided. Be sure to click on YES if you will be the Captain. Include your phone number if you want other team captains and your District League Coordinator to have access to your phone number for questions or for relaying information. Click on Next Step and follow the payment instructions.

Q: HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A TOURNAMENT?
USTA members can register online while viewing available tournaments through TennisLink. From the Tournaments home page, search for Intermountain – Idaho and any other desired criteria for a list of events. Go to the individual tournament page, and click on the red text “Click here to register online”. Most tournaments also provide paper entry forms that are available from the tournament director, at local clubs, or at the IdTA office.

Join us in our mission to promote and develop the growth of tennis in our local communities. We are always seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to help us with programs and events throughout the Idaho District. It's a fun way to meet people and give back to the game that's given so much to you! You can volunteer as little or as much as you please, we will work with you.
