Are you looking to become more involved in tennis but don't know where to start? The Idaho Tennis Association is here to provide you with the tools and resources to get you excited about tennis and out on the courts!
Not sure if you want to commit to tennis before trying it out? Our Tennis 101 program is the perfect opportunity to "test the tennis waters" to see if it is the right sport for you! Held intermittently in the spring and every Saturday at various locations during the summer, Tennis 101 is a cost-effective program that introduces, or re-introduces, the sport to the entire family (children ages 5+). No, you won't be on the same court with your kid! The groups are divided by age and ability so that everyone can enjoy learning the game at their own pace!
We provide the equipment, we provide a fun and always changing curriculum, and we provide qualified instructors! You just have to show up and have fun for these 90 minute sessions. The program is geared towards individuals who have never played tennis before, or are looking to brush up on their skills after a break from the game.
For more information about Tennis 101, including locations, dates, and times, visit the Tennis 101 page , or contact Alfredo Guerrero, Adult Programs Coordinator/League Recuriter, at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (208) 340-9142.
The IdTA hosts several "Play Days" throughout the year. These days are free or low cost, and equipment is provided. Play Days will be listed on the IdTA Calendar page, or you can sign up to receive our newsletter to keep up-to-date on all Play Days. Email Sarah Ober at email@example.com to be put on the email distribution list.
JOIN A TENNIS LEAGUE!
One of the best ways to get involved with tennis is to join the United States Tennis Association. The USTA is the national governing body for the sport of tennis in the United States.
The Idaho Tennis Association, which heads up the Idaho District of the Intermountain Tennis Association, has several USTA leagues throughout the year--once you join the USTA, you can choose which leagues to sign up for! It is never too early or too late to join a team! (Players must turn at least 18 in the year of competition). For a list of leagues offered in the Idaho District, CLICK HERE.
Never played tennis before? No problem! We have teams specifically for people who are new to the sport! Tennis is a lifelong sport, and can be played by anyone who is willing and able! League tennis is also a great way to meet new people!
To learn more about League Tennis and joining a team, visit the Adult League Programs page, or contact Alfredo Guerrero, Adult Programs Coordinator/League Recuriter, at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at Phone: (208) 340-9142.
Tennis is Elementary (TIE) is a statewide after-school program designed for elementary students age 10 and under. Idaho Tennis Association conducts the program at each school’s gym, cafeteria, or multipurpose room by using the USTA 10 and Under format which includes foam or low-compression balls, smaller racquets and a reduced court size. The program is designed to run two days a week during the school year in most schools.
For more information about Tennis is Elementary, visit the TiE webpage.
