In early 2009, Magic Valley Tennis Association (MVTA) was awarded a $1,500 grant from the First Federal Savings Bank Charitable Foundation for the purchase of new windscreens for the Canyon Ridge High School tennis courts. Later in the year, MVTA co-sponsored the Magic Valley Weight Loss Challenge, where they hosted a tennis clinic for participants who were interested in incorporating tennis as part of a healthy lifestyle.

MVTA shared the purchase costs of four new tennis nets for the city courts in Jerome, and also partnered with the College of Southern Idaho and Twin Falls City Parks and Recreation Department to repair the CSI tennis courts. They supported the Twin Falls Bruin Tennis Team by paying them to put up and take down windscreens.

Throughout the summer, MVTA hosted three public USTA events -- the 2009 Tennis Block Party, Tennis 101, and the Magic Valley Open – with good participation in all. They also hosted four non-sanctioned tournaments; a fall indoor mixed tournament, indoor singles and indoor doubles tournaments, and a social tournament for members. Additionally, MVTA sponsored players who wanted to participate in USTA League events who need financial assistance.
