TENNIS 101

WHAT IS TENNIS 101?

Tennis 101 teaches the basic concepts and strokes of the game quickly and easily in a fun, family-friendly, active and encouraging group environment. These low-cost clinics run on Saturday mornings from June to September, with monthly Jamborees set to be held indoors during the winter months.

Idaho Tennis provides the curriculum, instructors and equipment. The aim of the program is to excite adults and children about tennis so that they will join other tennis programs organized by community tennis associations, clubs, parks and recreation departments and teaching pros.

2009 marked the second year of the Tennis 101 program. In 2008, IdTA piloted the program at two locations and drew almost 300 registrants. In 2009, IdTA expanded the program, bringing it to five sites around the state (Fort Boise, Hidden Springs, Meridian, Sun Valley and Twin Falls) and drew over 1,000 registrants. IdTA plans to build on this momentum in 2010 by expanding the program to new sites and introducing Tennis 200.
