Treasure Valley Tennis Association

Treasure Valley Tennis Association (TVTA) continued its annual celebration of the USTA’s National Tennis Month in May by hosting a Block Party on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at Fort Boise Community Center tennis courts. The block party helped kick-off the Valley-wide Tennis 101 program that began in June. Representatives from USTA and Idaho Tennis Association took part in the activities, and as did Tennis 101 site coordinators and instructors.

TVTA (teaming up with Meridian Parks and Recreation) also offered summer tennis lessons and sponsored the Treasure Valley Junior Circuit (TVJC) tournaments.

Three Circuit tournaments around the Treasure Valley led up to a final Grand Prix held at Boise Racquet and Swim Club. The Grand Prix was the largest junior tournament in Idaho for the second year in a row with 162 players, 265 event entries, 294 matches played, and over $3,000 in awards and prizes handed out. Many thanks go to TVTA sponsors including Overhead Smash, Idaho First Bank, Lithia Motors and Baja Fresh for helping make the 2010 so successful.
