NEW TO JUNIOR TENNIS

IN IDAHO?

If you are a parent or junior player new to tennis competition in Idaho, we want you to know about the many ways you can enjoy tennis in our state! Junior players can participate in lessons at various facilities, both private and public. Players can also compete in tournaments offered year round. Also, players can join recreational leagues, 1 day events, and high-level team workouts.

JUNIOR TOURNAMENTS

Junior Tournaments give players the opportunity to advance their game by competing in match play situation against players with similar skill levels. Competing in junior tournaments will help players learn the skill sets necessary to take their game to the next level - high school, college, or the pros. 

Find a local tournament near you, a Junior Team Tennis opportunity, or try a Non-Elimination Tournament. 

JUNIOR TOURNAMENT PATHWAY

These events are designed for players just starting to compete in tournaments. These tournaments are non-elimination events with Round Robin formats and timed matches. Age groups 12 - 18s will compete with the Green Dot ball. Players who are ages 10 and under will compete with the Orange Ball. 

LEVEL 8

ENTRY LEVEL TOURNAMENTS

These tournaments are for the junior player with some tournament experience. Age groups 14 - 18 will compete with the Yellow Ball. 12s will compete with the Green Dot ball. 10s will compete with the Orange ball. Players must compete in age group of their current age. No "playing up" at any age group. 

LEVEL 7

CHALLENGER TOURNAMENTS

These events are designed for intermediate to advanced players. They are USTA sanctioned events for girls and boys aged 12 - 18. Singles and Doubles play opportunities available. BG 10 events will be played on 60' court with orange ball (if offered). 

LEVEL 6

DISTRICT OPEN

These events are designed for intermediate to advanced junior players. These are USTA sanctioned events for boys and girls aged 12 - 18. Singles and Doubles play opportunities available. BG 10 events will be played on 78' court with green ball (if offered).

LEVEL 5

DISTRICT CUP

These events are for advanced players. These are USTA sanctioned Sectional Masters Tournaments. There will be four tournaments held throughout the year in Utah, Nevada, and Colorado. 

*Players must qualify to participate.

LEVEL 4

MASTERS TOURNAMENTS

These events are your Sectional Championship Tournaments. These tournaments are for the highest level performance player in each age division.

*Players must qualify to participate.
